Hope's 162 Not Out Seals West Indies' Record ODI Chase as India Take the Series 2-1
Shai Hope kept wicket for 50 overs, opened the batting and made 162 not out as West Indies chased 352 in New Chandigarh with ten balls to spare.

Shai Hope played one of the great one-day innings by a West Indian to guide his side to a five-wicket win in the third ODI in New Chandigarh. Chasing 352, West Indies reached 352 for 5 with ten balls to spare, the highest successful chase in their ODI history.
India had already secured the series and finished 2-1 winners.
Rahul anchors India
India's 351 for 7 was built around KL Rahul, who made an unbeaten 129 and batted through the closing overs to give the hosts what appeared to be a commanding total.

Hope does it all
Hope's day had started behind the stumps, where he kept wicket for all 50 overs of India's innings. He then promoted himself to open after Jewel Andrew injured a finger, and batted through the chase.
His unbeaten 162 came from 143 balls and included 17 fours and three sixes. It is the highest score by any batter in a successful ODI chase against India.
The partnerships that mattered
- Hope and Amir Jangoo added 109 from 99 balls for the second wicket. Jangoo made 67.
- Hope and Gudakesh Motie put on an unbroken 62 to finish the match, with Hope scoring 40 of those runs from just 16 deliveries.
That final surge turned a chase that was drifting towards a tense finish into a comfortable one.

Series in review
India won the first two matches, including the extraordinary second ODI in Guwahati where they chased 406. West Indies leave the one-day leg beaten but with considerable credit, having passed 350 in consecutive matches. The teams now move to a five-match T20 international series.
